Troop Meeting #3

This meeting was the third meeting of this scout year and the meeting after a one night camping trip to the Scandinavian forest.Today we met out on the field and went over the pros and cons of the camping trip. We got into our patrols to discuss this. Then we got finished with discussing the past camping trip. Today was also Stephen Wilkes birthday and we celebrated with a strawberry cake and juice.

TROOP 806 Meeting #2

Today we started off with a friendly greeting from the scout leaders and venture patrol. We reviewed and talked about the camping trip to the Scandinavian forest. We also talked about who was mentoring the hiking and camping merit badge. After that we split into our patrols and discussed our breakfast lunch and dinner. That was the summary for today and when we were done we did our prayer and were dismissed.

These are the pictures from the Dig Site at Tal El-Hammam, where a huge group of scouts (along with many others) went to do the Archaeology Merit badge. We spent the whole day there and learned a lot about Archaeology and how fun it can be.

Upon Arriving at the archaeological site,  we had a quick tour of the site and some explanation on how to excavate in the best possible way.

moms, dads and girls.

The scouts then got their own plot of land which they were supposed to excavate, and we worked pretty hard!

It was a very busy day!

We then had lunch and took another quick tour of
the lower city and some of the guard towers.

After that, we worked a couple more hours, then packed up and drove to a hotel at the dead sea, where we learned how to wash pottery and examine it.
